Some People I Admire: Steve Linn’s Documentary Sculpture – September 11 – November 28, 2021

Throughout his career of more than 50 years, Steve Linn has been a figurative and narrative sculptor celebrating extraordinary people and in addition having an appreciation for how these sculptures fit into the fabric of their environment. Relevance and artistic merit along with a family-instilled sense of craftsmanship have been the focal point of each of these pieces. From an early age Linn’s father, who was a  furniture maker and a high school wood shop teacher, instilled the satisfaction from the well-made object.

In this exhibition, Linn presents sculptures of glass, wood, aluminum and other materials and techniques that pay homage to illustrious figures he admires, from Kara Walker to Stephen Hawking to Ai Wei Wei.
