On June 12, 2021 we visited the Studio of Seattle based glass artist Jason Christian.
Jason Christian grew up in Coupeville, a small town situated on Whidbey Island in the heart of the Puget Sound region of western Washington State. Jason’s mother was a nurse, his father a metal fabricator. Jason worked a variety of blue color jobs, however he always wanted to do something creative. After seeing glass blowing for the first time, Jason was hooked.
Today, Jason is an integral member of Dale Chihuly’s hot shop team, collaborating with international artists, including the late Pino Signoretto. He has worked with the leading glass artists today, including Lino Tagliapietra, Martin Blank, Preston Singletary, James Mongrain and Nancy Callan. Jason has taught at Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, WA, at Urban Glass in New York City, and at the University of Texas Arlington.
