Biography

Luke Jacomb

Avondale (Auckland) based glass studio Lukeke Design is the brainchild of the talented duo Katherine Rutecki (New York, USA) and Luke Jacomb (Auckland, New Zealand). Lukeke Design is driven to produce quality handmade cast and blown glass works that are beautiful, accessible and affordable.

Luke Jacomb is a second generation New Zealand glass artist. Brought up in the world of glass art, he learnt the skills from an early age. Luke fell in love with the medium and has continually found unique ways of pushing the limits of glass, technically and commercially. Luke continues to engage with the wider glass community and frequently collaborates with other glass artists.

Lukeke Design works can be found in a number of significant private and public collections, including the Ebeltoff Glass Museum (Denmark), Corning Museum of Glass (New York, USA) and the New Orleans Museum of Art (Louisiana, USA). The range of cast glass birds have broad appeal and have become popular collectible glass pieces that serve as both beautiful objects and relief sculptures.
