Biography

Clayton Haigh

With a background in drawing, sculpture and artistic metal-smithing, Clayton Haigh found inspiration all around him growing up near the mouth of the Niagara River. The rock formations, cut and polished by the relentless flow of The Falls were a major inspiration for his Geodes series. He moved from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Toronto in 2009 and now calls the city home. In 2019 Clayton opened Turnstyle Glassblowing Studio. The studio allows Clayton to continue his practice and provide a workspace for visiting glass artists and designers. Turnstyle also serves as an educational facility providing a graduated series of workshops introducing beginners to the material and allowing amateurs to improve their craft.
