Biography

Cathy Strokowsky

Montreal born glass artist Cathy Strokowsky graduated in 1999 from Espace Verre, a progressive glass school situated in Old Montreal, Quebec.

During the 3 year intensive program, she was taught all techniques of glass making but specialized in blown glass, sandblasting, and polishing. She also continues to perfect her skills in flameworking, the technique that drew her to glass in the first place.

Her work reflects the beauty and harmony found in nature. Many of her pieces evoke underwater images such as anemones and coral, forest flora, and desert flowers.

Strokowsky’s work has been featured since 2001 at Sculptures, Objects, and Functional Art (SOFA) exposition in Chicago and New York. She has also participated in several solo shows.

Cathy Strokowsky is represented by Sandra Ainsley Gallery, located in Toronto, the leading contemporary glass art gallery in Canada.
